Under MJPJAY & PMJAY(Ayushman Yojana) In Amravati in Mahatma Jyotirao Pule Jan Arogya Yojana is the flagship health insurance scheme of the Government of a Maharashtra. The scheme provides end-to-end cashless services for the identified diseases through a network of the service providers from the Government and Private sector. The scheme earlier was known as the Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana which was the started on 2nd July 2012 in eight districts and then was expanded to 28 districts of the Maharashtra from 21st November 2013.
The second component under Ayushman Bharat is the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and PM-JAY as it is popularly known. This scheme was launched on the 23rd September, 2018 in Ranchi, Jharkhand by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

What is Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana?

The Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana is the healthcare coverage scheme launched by the Maharashtra’s State Government. It was initially introduced to the Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana. The scheme aims to provide a affordable or quality medical care to individuals below or marginally above the poverty line.

This healthcare scheme also covers surgical procedures or related consultation and hospitalisation expenses.

When was MJPJAY launched?

The MJPJAY scheme was first launched in a July 2012. It was valid only in 8 districts of a Maharashtra. Later, the scheme became functional in all 35 districts from the November 2015. Since then, any individual holding a valid document could avail of the free healthcare services from network hospitals.
